One of the ways I try to simplify my life is through gardening. On several levels this brings me closer to the earth and helps me value what is local versus seeking things far away from my home
Hi Perm Folks,
For quite some time I have gentley slowly edged toward using
some permaculture techniques in my own area. The back yard is now
all non-lawn. Slowly adding perrenials. To date we have apples,
elderberry, comfrey, peach, plum, nanking cherry, raspberries and black
raspberries. We collect the rainwater from our foof and have not used
any city water for outside purposes for more than 4 years. The wildlife
around our house has definitely increased. Also included some raised
beds for veggies. Lots of productivity and no chemical fertilizers at
all.
I am also interested in any experiences about neighborhood
outreach to talk about permaculture that folks have experienced.
Love to hear from folks
